Where to Eat & Drink
-
Mi Cocina
A Dallas institution. Perfect for dinner or lunch, grab some fajitas and a Mambo taxi for a real Dallas initiation. Our go to location is in Highland Park Village, nestled in the middle of great shopping and bopping around. Bonus points if you sneak upstairs for another Mambo (or two!)
No Reservations - might be a breif wait depending on time of day!
-
Ice House
Another Dallas rite of passage - a casual place for a beer & and bite. Great for large groups, and where you will most likely find us on Sunday for brunch!
Hutton’s order: Jalapeno Sausage Plate w/ a Shiner Blonde or summer beer
Chase’s order: Cheeseburger & Nachos w/ a frozen marg or Pacifico
No Reservations - wait time varies, but worth it!
-
The Charles
One of the best for a nice dinner out. I always reccomend ordering for the table so everyone can try a little bit of everything, be prepared for a twist on Italian. 11/10 wine list and even better martinis!
If you like oysters, you HAVE to order a round of their peperoni oysters for the table.
Reservation Required unless you want to test your luck at the bar.
-
Fachini
Best italian in Dallas, and where we celebrated our engagement right after Chase proposed. Arguable one of the best Spicy Vodka pastas (sorry Carbone) and 100 layer lasagna, need I say more?
Another great spot to have dinner then bop around, Monkey Bar is just across the way!
Reservations Required, unless you want to test your luck at the bar.
-
The Old Monk
Looking for the best pub in Dallas? Look no further. Perfectly paired pints and german bar food, but do not sleep on their chicken fingers! For the ladies, they also have a (surprisingly) good cheese board.
No reservations needed, great for lunch/dinner/or just grabbing drinks!
-
Javier's
One of Dallas’s oldest and finest, Javier’s, is perfect for true Mexican food (not Tex-Mex) and drinks. There will be no shortage of tequila. Some menu highlights - smoked chicken nachos, cheese panela, filet cantinflas, shrimp fajitas and cordoniz a la talla (smoked quail).
Reservations reccomend, walk in’s available on limited basis! Call to reserve.
-
Honor Bar
Lunch, dinner, drinks on the patio - either way, Honor Bar is always a good idea. Another great spot in Highland Park Village if you’re looking to kill an afternoon - put your name on the waitlist and bop around.
Limited reservations & walk in’s, wait time may vary!
-
Berkley's
Our favorite coffee / lunch / snack spot in our old neighborhood - we love their sandwiches, but pop in for coffee, wine, or a snack while you walk the trail or snag a patio spot for breakfast or lunch!

Bar Sardine
Yes, like the one that was in the West Village (well, kindof) - our take on a New York icon.
-
Jack and Harry's
Or as we like to call it, Sam and Larry’s. A New Orleans chop house with one of the best steak frites I have ever experienced. Cold cocktails, no fuss steak, and great seafood!
-
E Bar Tex Mex
Chase and I’s relationship began over a couple of meltdowns during lockdown. An all time favorite divey tex mex spot with some of the strongest margarita’s in the DFW metroplex. Order the Jorge’s tacos and start with some E Bar queso.
No reservation needed, walk in’s welcome!
-
Toulouse
Another one of our old neighborhood favorites, this little french bistro used to be our date-night go-to. Cozy bar, beautiful patio if weather allows and perfect people (and dog) watching on the trail.

Mister Charles
As they say, Mister Charles is The Charles’s cool rich uncle - do with that information as you please. Come for the martinis and stay for the ice cream sunday dessert. Honorable mention for the uni carbonara (trust me on this one).
